JEJAK— FLOORSTUDIO x Studio Hendro Hadinata at EMERGE – Design Find Asia 2025, Marina Bay Sands Singapore

JEJAK (translated from Bahasa Indonesia as Footprint) featured at EMERGE – Design Find Asia 2025 in Singapore, marks the third collaboration between FLOORSTUDIO and Studio Hendro Hadinata (SHH). For this edition, SHH sought to push creativity further by continuing the use of leftover yarns, turning remnants of past creations into a meaningful design statement.

Studio Hendro Hadinata explored not only the surface of the carpet but also its backing. By stretching the mesh backing, SHH transformed it into a lace-like filigree fabric pattern, introducing an unexpected layer of texture and craftsmanship.

To challenge perceptions of what a rug can be, the design elevates a traditionally two-dimensional object into three dimensions. The carpet is displayed on a thin, three-curved-legged iron console, allowing it to cascade gracefully to the floor, creating a sculptural presence.

The colors flow from deep ocean blues to delicate light blues, inspired by the gradient of underwater coral reefs. Using Panglipuran and Baha tufting techniques, FLOORSTUDIO’s artisans brought the piece to life—transforming discarded materials into a powerful statement of sustainability, memory, and innovation.

Pasir Awi — FLOORSTUDIO x Studio Hendro Hadinata at IFFINA 2024

In 2024, FLOORSTUDIO collaborated with Studio Hendro Hadinata to present Pasir Awi at IFFINA 2024, a wall art installation inspired by Indonesia’s ancient stone inscriptions.

The Pasir Awi inscription, discovered in Bogor in 1864, is one of many sculptural carvings found near rivers and water-based sites. These inscriptions—some written in Sanskrit, others still undeciphered—carry profound values of patience, balance, and endurance, qualities that have allowed them to withstand the passage of time. As the stones erode, they leave behind beautifully embossed patterns, reminders of history etched into nature.

To honor these ancient inscriptions, Studio Hendro Hadinata and FLOORSTUDIO designed rugs inspired by the embossed patterns of Pasir Awi. Rather than replicating the exact carvings, new patterns were created to preserve the essence of the original. The design also draws from the pebbles surrounding the site, naturally stacked and smoothed over generations into harmonious oval shapes. Much like the inscriptions themselves, these pebbles embody patience and transformation through time.

FLOORSTUDIO x Studio Hendro Hadinata at IFEX 2025

For the second time, FLOORSTUDIO proudly collaborated with Studio Hendro Hadinata, presenting a special installation at IFEX 2025.

The result of this collaboration is ATMA, a wall art piece made from two layered round-shaped rugs, illuminated and supported with plywood backing to be hung seamlessly. Crafted from leftover colorful yarns, the work forms a human figure that represents the diverse races of Indonesia—celebrating both creativity and sustainability.

As described by Studio Hendro Hadinata:
“Flowing from one place to another, as rivers do, no soul should be left adrift. When one shines, their light spills forth, illuminating all in its embrace—like a diamond scattering brilliance upon the world. ATMA reflects the spirit of Bhinneka Tunggal Ika, a verse we cherish, for within its words lies the beauty of unity in diversity.”

ATMA is more than a visual statement—it is a reminder of how design can embody values of unity, light, and humanity, while reimagining what hand-tufted rugs can become.

Floorstudio x ELM Furniture – Jia Curated 2025

At Jia Curated 2025 in Bali, Floorstudio proudly collaborated with ELM Furniture, presenting a unique installation that blended sustainability, creativity, and craftsmanship. This collaboration showcased how design can embrace both material exploration and storytelling to create spaces that feel thoughtful, alive, and inspiring.

For this showcase, Floorstudio contributed a shaggy custom rug installation made from leftover yarns — a piece that reflects our commitment to circular design and responsible craftsmanship. By transforming what might have been waste into a statement rug, we brought texture, warmth, and vibrancy to the installation, perfectly complementing the vision of ELM Furniture.

The collaboration was more than a display of products; it was a dialogue between materials and forms. The tactile softness of the carpet balanced the strength and character of ELM Furniture’s pieces, creating a harmonious environment where furniture and textile spoke to one another.

Through this partnership, Floorstudio continues to champion the idea that design should be both beautiful and meaningful — rooted in craft, yet forward-looking in its sustainability.

Floorstudio at Nava Sajiva 2025 – Experience Space

Floorstudio was honored to be part of Nava Sajiva 2025, an exhibition held by Maranatha University in Bandung. The theme, “Experience Space”, invited young designers to push boundaries and reinterpret how interiors can shape the way we live, interact, and feel.

As a proud supporter of Indonesia’s future design talents, Floorstudio collaborated with four designers — Revano (Fluxhome), Angelina (Verich Design), Sora (SA Studio), and Tara (Boonstudio) — by creating custom hand-tufted carpets tailored to their visionary concepts. Each collaboration demonstrated how material, craftsmanship, and design thinking can merge to form immersive environments.

Floorstudio x Sora Anisa (SA Studio) – Nava Sajiva 2025

At Nava Sajiva 2025 by Maranatha University, Floorstudio had the pleasure of collaborating with Sora Anisa of SA Studio on her heartfelt project, “Mulih Omah Eyang” — which translates to “Going Back to Grandparents’ Home.”

Sora’s nostalgic concept beautifully revived the warmth of the 1990s, inspired by childhood memories, traditional Indonesian motifs, and the comforting embrace of a home filled with heritage. Her design reflected not just architecture and interiors, but also an emotional journey — a return to the spaces that shaped our earliest memories of belonging and family.

Floorstudio contributed a custom hand-tufted rug that played an important role in reinforcing this atmosphere. Crafted with care, the rug added texture and comfort, grounding the space with softness that echoed the emotional depth of Sora’s vision.

Through this collaboration, we were proud to help weave stories into every thread — bridging memory, culture, and design.

Floorstudio x Angelina Deviana (VERICH Design) – Nava Sajiva 2025

Our collaboration with Angelina Deviana (Nana) of VERICH Design at Nava Sajiva 2025 was a celebration of nostalgia and family connections. Her installation, “Echoes of Home: A 90s Revival,” reimagined the family room — the true heart of a house in the 1990s.

Angelina’s design transported visitors back to a time when togetherness was simple and authentic, long before the digital era. Details such as kaca nako windows, vintage mirrors, and classic Indonesian furniture evoked vivid memories of homes filled with laughter, storytelling, and shared moments.

Floorstudio was honored to support her vision through a custom rug that brought warmth, tactility, and cohesion to the room. More than a design element, the carpet served as a reminder of the physical and emotional grounding that makes a house feel like home.

This collaboration demonstrated how design can be both nostalgic and forward-looking — paying homage to the past while inspiring the present.

FLOORSTUDIO x Tara Claudia (Boon Studio) at Nava Sajiva 2025

Among the four experience spaces showcased at Nava Sajiva 2025, the most playful one came from Elizabeth Tara Claudia, Founder and Lead Designer of Boon Studio.

Tara presented a space filled with flowing curves, creating a dynamic and organic atmosphere. Her main inspiration came from Slinky, the iconic spiral spring toy beloved in the 1990s. The toy’s flexible and rhythmic movement was reinterpreted into a spatial design that balanced playfulness with structural integrity.

To bring this vision to life, Tara collaborated with FLOORSTUDIO, who crafted a custom hand-tufted rug designed to echo the fluidity of her concept. The rug featured colorful striped effects, carefully blended to complement the space, adding warmth, depth, and tactile richness.

The result was a playful yet sophisticated environment — a design that harmonized creativity, craftsmanship, and coherence while celebrating both nostalgia and innovation.

FLOORSTUDIO x with Revano Satria at Nava Sajiva 2025

Revano Satria, architect and founder of RSI Group International, praised Nava Sajiva by Maranatha University as an extraordinary event that exceeded his expectations. For this year’s theme, the ‘90s, Revano created the Natsukashi House — a nostalgic portal into childhood memories.

Inside, visitors were transported to Japan’s golden era of anime and manga, surrounded by Naruto, Dragon Ball, Detective Conan, Astro Boy, Doraemon, and vintage collectibles arranged within a tatami-style space. Many of the items were from Revano’s own collection, reflecting his personal journey of imagination and play.

Supporting the design, FLOORSTUDIO collaborated with Revano by presenting the “Panglipuran” rug from the Timeless Weave collection, customized in a striking red theme, grounding the space with warmth and cultural depth.
